Scott Johnson

PT, MSPT, OCS, CF-L1

Scott earned his undergraduate degree in Exercises Science at Grand Valley State University in his home state of Michigan and his Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. Upon graduation, he ventured West to Colorado and hasn’t been East since!

While in Colorado Springs, Scott had the opportunity to work with the USA Judo Olympian hopefuls, USA Figure Skating Olympians, Colorado Springs Tigers AAA Hockey team, Professional Boxing camps, NFL athletes, CrossFit games athletes, and Professional Runners.

When opportunity came, he moved to Aspen to pursue adventure and be surrounded by numerous incredible mentors. During his time in Aspen, he had the opportunity to treat winter X-game athletes, outdoor enthusiasts, and adventure sport athletes.

His interests then moved him to Billings, Montana where he noticed that CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting athletes were being grossly mismanaged by the medical system. This led him to open his first practice where he could create his own methods to enable CrossFit enthusiasts and Weightlifters to meet their goals.

He and his business partner grew their practice from a table in the corner of a CrossFit gym to a brick and mortar space equipped to manage the care of the communities CrossFit and Olympic Weightlifting athletes. While in Billings, he helped several more CrossFit athletes make their way to the CrossFit games while he continued to grow his practice around the outdoor enthusiasts and adventure sport athletes. After several years of steady business growth, he left the business to his partner and it continues to thrive.

He finally found his forever home in Bend several years ago. To really solidify roots, he decided to open up shop again and engrain himself in the community. When not working, you can expect to find him at the CrossFit gym, mountain biking with friends, listening to live music, or loving on his dog Franklin.

Michael began his work in the medical and fitness space in 2013 when he initially enlisted in the Army National Guard as a healthcare specialist. As an Army Medic, he worked under the supervision of the Company Physician Assistant to evaluate, diagnose, and treat soldiers who presented with any range of illnesses or traumatic injury.

In 2018, Michael began a full time position training athletes as a Crossfit trainer while completing full time undergraduate studies. Beyond coaching group classes, Michael was also in charge with developing weekly workout programs for classes as well as designing individualized programs for members who wanted to take their fitness even further. In the Spring of 2020, Michael graduated with his bachelor of science in Kinesiology at Oregon State University.

Upon graduation, Michael moved to Central Oregon where he worked as a full time aide at an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic. In his role as a lead aide, Michael was in charge of all clinic facilities. Michael is currently enrolled at Oregon State University Cascades as a member of the first cohort of Doctor of Physical Therapy students. When not training and learning, he spends his time with his wife and their two dogs, Noodle and Lemon.
